Disney continues to share new details about what travelers can expect at Walt Disney World Resort's Disney Lakeshore Lodge when it debuts in summer 2027.
On Wednesday, Disney Parks Blog announced plans for The Wetlands, "a sweeping outdoor recreation area just beyond the lobby that’s surrounded by the beauty of Bay Lake."
The space will feature both "wet and dry play areas inspired by the music and storytelling of Walt Disney Animation Studios' Pocahontas."
Highlights will include Heron Shores, Otter Springs, Lakeside Lagoon, Perspective Pond and the Daydream River.
Heron Shores will offer young guests imaginative climbing features. Not far away, Otter Springs will entertain guests who can slide and splash with interactive water features. Meanwhile, the Daydream River will wind through the recreation area, offering guests the most relaxing way to tour.
Lakeside Lagoon is the new resort’s zero‑entry pool for guests of all ages, featuring a spiral waterslide, while Perspective Pond—located at the opposite end of the resort—will feature a leisure pool and whirlpool spa with views of Magic Kingdom fireworks in the evenings.
Slated to open next summer, Disney Lakeshore Lodge will feature 967 themed accommodations ranging from studios to multi-bedroom villas.
