Grand Lido Negril Hosts 10th Annual Epicurean Escape

From June 24 to 28, guests at the AAA Four Diamond Grand Lido Negril Resort & Spa in Jamaica celebrated the 10th annual Epicurean Escape. This year was one of the most successful Epicurean Escapes to date. Organized with Food & Wine magazine, the event showcased the best of culinary arts, from master sommeliers to award-winning local and international chefs, including England's Royal Chef Darren McGrady. Featuring exotic cooking demonstrations, pastry classes and tasting seminars, the five-day program culminated in an eight-course gala dinner with signature dishes from guest chefs, paired with wines selected by master sommeliers.

McGrady cooked for Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham palace for 11 years, before working four years as a private chef to the late Princess Diana. McGrady wowed fans at Grand Lido Negril with the princess's favorite bread and butter pudding and the queen's favorite meal of beef tenderloin in wild mushroom and whiskey cream sauce with shrimp.

Perhaps best known for her "Quick Fire" culinary skills as seen on Bravo TV's "Top Chef Season 4," Nikki Cascone is the chef and co-owner of 24 Prince in New York. Cascone has a penchant to experiment with flavors and ingredients from all over the world.

Michael A. Jordan, general manager and master sommelier of Napa Rose restaurant at Disneyland's Grand Californian Hotel, shared his wine knowledge with guests at Epicurean Escape with his wine-tasting sessions on German Rieslings.
