The hospitality industry is doing its part to support victims of Sunday's deadly shooting in Las Vegas, which left 59 people dead and more than 500 others injured.

MGM Resorts International announced Tuesday it will donate $3 million to fund humanitarian assistance to victims of the attack and organizations that provide support to first responders through its MGM Resorts Foundation.

The Las Vegas-based hospitality company also confirmed its assisting affected travelers with lodging, meals, air and ground transportation as well as grief counseling.

"There are simply no words to express our grief and outrage over this senseless and horrific attack on our community," MGM Resorts chairman and CEO, Jim Murren, said in a statement accompanying Tuesday's announcement.

"With this donation, we hope to make a difference to those who were harmed and those who are left behind. We also wish to recognize the awesome contributions of first responders, not just here in Las Vegas but around the United States, who give so completely of themselves when disaster strikes," Murren added.

"On behalf of our Las Vegas community, I wish to say thank you to our global community who remind us from moment to moment that we are not alone."

MGM Resorts owns a slew of properties along the Las Vegas Strip, where Sunday's attack occurred, including the Mandalay Bay, where the gunman launched his attack.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Boyd Gaming Corporation is also lending a hand to those who have been affected by offering complimentary rooms to family members of victims at its Las Vegas properties.

"We can't guarantee a specific property, but we will accommodate at our properties around town based on availability," said vice president of corporate communications, David Strow. "Relatives should call our reservations line at 888-582-6278 and state that they are calling about that offer." The offer code is "ZSTRIP."

Free stays are also available at Siegel Suites Select. Siegel Group Nevada Inc. senior vice president, Michael Crandall, told the Review-Journal that the company has "no idea how much it will cost, and we're not worried about it."

"We're just worried about helping victims and their families." People can call 888-328-0192 to make a reservation and there is no stay limit.

The South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa and Station Casinos are also chipping in to offer free stays to family members traveling to assist relatives and friends who have been impacted.

"We are devastated by the recent events at the Route 91 Harvest Festival and will do whatever we can in our power to help," South Point General Manager, Ryan Growney, told the Review-Journal.
