Jamaican luxury resort Half Moon
will “modernize” its Rose Hall Villas accommodations in
an extensive expansion timed to extend through November 2024, said company
officials.
The renovation will create revamped interior spaces,
including new family game rooms, upgraded appliances,
furniture, bathrooms, and enhanced outdoor pools and cabanas,
officials said in a statement.
Eleven villas will be restored under
the renovation’s first phase beginning in April and concluding in time for the fall
holiday season. The remaining eight villas will undergo enhancement work during
the same period in 2025.
The project is the latest in a series of Half Moon improvements,
including the recent renovation of its Hibiscus neighborhood and the 2020
opening of Eclipse at Half Moon, the resort section that features seven
accommodation categories, two restaurants, three bars, an infinity-edge
swimming pool and a private beachfront.
Half Moon’s Rose Hall Villas provide deluxe accommodations designed for families
and groups, with dedicated staff including a personal chef, housekeeper and
butler.
“We are excited to further elevate
the elegantly relaxed guest experience at our popular Rose Hall Villas,” said Shernette
Crichton, Half Moon’s general manager, “while also retaining our Jamaican
design inspirations. We look forward to sharing the beautiful renovation in the
coming months.”
The villa enhancements will “retain each villa’s
architectural footprint but offer a significantly improved experience,”
including large glass-pane doors, screened windows and new layouts to optimize
viewing.
The villas will offer new wood and stone finishes plus modern
furnishings with tropical textures, neutral color palettes and subtle regional
accents, according to officials.
In recognition of its 70-year history during which the resort has hosted U.S. presidents, British royal family
members and cinema stars, Half Moon has been inducted into Historic Hotels
Worldwide, the official program of the U.S. National Trust for Historic
Preservation, said company officials.
The program recognizes and celebrates fine historic hotels
around the globe and promotes heritage and cultural travel by featuring historic
hotels and lodgings.
