Palace Resorts has announced the reopening of Playacar Palace.
The luxury retreat in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, underwent a multi-phase remodel that represented an investment of $14 million. The all-inclusive, family-friendly property rests on a powdery, white-sand beach and is steps away from Quinta Avenida, the area's popular shopping and dining area.
The renovation included updates throughout the resort, including guestrooms, the lobby, the front desk, restaurants and lounge areas.
Playacar Palace's new interior designs were the result of a collaboration between architect Roberto Elias and interior designer Francois Frossard, blending many contemporary and classic elements.
"As a brand, we are always looking to reinvent ourselves and elevate each part of any guests experience," said Gibran Chapur, executive vice president of Palace Resorts. "It's not only about being better but also about offering our guests a completely unique experience while offering the highest quality of standards."
"The renovations to Playacar Palace are only one of the many ways, our brand continues to evolve and stay ahead of the most demanded trends in the luxury all-inclusive. We are proud to open our doors to the newly revamped Playacar Palace," added Chapur.
Each of the 201 guestrooms has new modern furnishings. A revamped vanity and upgraded showers are among the new amenities as well as new Lavazza coffeemakers. Walk-out suites also now have private terraces. New tech is also part of the upgrade. State-of-the-art wristbands allow guests to open the doors to their suites. Guests can also download the Palace Resorts app to their smartphones and use it to open the door to their room.
Resort dining got an upgrade as well.
Cafe del Mar, the resort's main restaurant, has a new, contemporary design with new furniture, upholstery and an upgraded ambiance. There's now a cold show cooking area that shows off the artistic plating used in the presentation of every dish.
Italian restaurant Terraza has morphed into Bocelli, with a new style and menu, highlights of which include controfilleto e formaggio, ribeye con grani di pepe and the petit filet. Antonio Bachour's decadent desserts are also now part of the offerings at the restaurant.
Momo, known for Asian-style cuisine, has a new menu with maki sushi, nigiri, special sushi cakes, temaki and more.
Guests looking to head to Playacar Palace can take advantage of a valuable vacation promotion that includes a $1,500 resort credit for those booking a stay of five nights or longer. The money can be used on spa and beauty salon treatments, golf outings, romantic dinners, wedding packages, and off-site excursions and tours.
