Some of the most unusual things happen at
a hotel, and Hotels.com is pulling
back the covers on some of the strangest things that guests have left behind
and requested.
You’d be surprised.
Like, have you ever found a set of teeth
that belonged to a previous guest?
Hotels.com released its Hotel Room Innsights
Report and you’ll do a double take for sure. Start with what people have left
behind.
Like teeth.
- More than 10
percent of hotels reported finding dentures
- A $6 million watch
and a Birkin Bag were some of the priciest items found
- Pets: A chick and
a pet lizard were discovered (and returned) after their owners checked out
- Someone even left
a car tire behind. Not kidding.
And some of the most bizarre requests have included Evian-filled
bathtubs and caviar hotdogs. Clearly, those are guests who are looking for
innovative ways to spend their money.
Four pounds of bananas, a 400-year-old Japanese garden
and a guitar-playing concierge are are also on the list.
And you thought a peanut butter and jelly sandwich at
midnight was unusual.
More than 400 hotels worldwide provided feedback for
the insights.
Melanie Fish, vice president of Global
Public Relations at Hotels.com said, “At Hotels.com we know
hotels inside and out – it's in our name. By asking hotels to reveal the
secrets behind their most memorable stays, we discovered that these insights
have actually inspired services available to guests today.”
The unusual requests go
along with some of the unusual laws that some countries adopt.
