In celebration of nearly two decades in business, The Ballantyne, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Charlotte, has just completed a multimillion dollar renovation.

The effort involved redesigning guest rooms and public spaces to pay homage to North Carolina's history and the property's host neighborhood of Ballantyne, once a hunting ground.

"Charlotte is an urban experience infused with historical touches, and the stunning renovation of The Ballantyne, a Luxury Collection Hotel, offers today's Global Explorers a modern yet authentic portal to the city," Anthony Ingham, global brand leader, The Luxury Collection, said in a statement.

"With design elements that pay homage to Charlotte's heritage and traditions paired with forward-thinking touchpoints of innovation, The Ballantyne is now more than ever a true expression of the cherished US destination," added Ingham.

The hotel's lobby has been fully refurbished and showcases two bronze Dalmatian statues, a tribute to the beloved pets who roamed the original hunting land.

A vintage-inspired lobby desk has a glass top that displays special artifacts, and the sophisticated lobby lounge is complete with a new chandelier and rose artwork above the fireplace. The space also features a neutral color palette of white, gold, and grey inspired by North Carolina's legacy as the first state in the country where gold was discovered.

The property features 208 guest rooms and suites, as well as a four-bedroom Cottage and a Lodge group retreat with 35 guest rooms. Each guest room has been refreshed to resemble a carefully curated collection of global treasures with a mix of antiques and new pieces. Amenities include Molton Brown bath products, and suites feature a complimentary Nespresso coffee and espresso bar.

The redesign of the hotel's Great Room pays homage to the "Carolina Emperor," the largest-cut emerald ever found in North America and uncovered in North Carolina. The room is filled with comfortable seating and features emerald, gold and grey accents.

The hotel spa has also received numerous enhancements designed to evoke a true haven for deep relaxation. Highlights include a new color palette featuring warm neutrals and soft powder blues and rustic wooden furniture.

There are also new experiential treatments that reflect the season, including Rose Garden-inspired treatments each spring and tea-infused therapies each summer.

The property's premier culinary offering, Gallery Restaurant, specializes in artfully presented, regionally inspired cuisine. Serving breakfast, lunch, weekend brunch, and upscale dinner daily, the restaurant partners with local and regional purveyors to serve the freshest ingredients.

In conjunction with the renovation, The Ballantyne is launching an exclusive partnership with Rare Tea Company of London, the preferred tea for the royal family.

Rare Tea Company will be the official tea featured in the hotel's Tea Program, including afternoon tea service; handcrafted tea cocktails; select desserts including tea; and The Spa will feature the teas as part of specialty treatment rituals and in retail.

The Ballantyne is located about 20 minutes from North Carolina's Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
