If you're like most Americans, you probably have something to say about the state of politics in America. Red state or blue state hardly matters-everyone has a strong opinion about something.
While sentiment about the goings on in Washington D.C. is strong, few Americans have done more than vent their opinions on social media.
Now The Standard hotel brand is encouraging guests to take their activism to a new level with the "Ring a Rep" campaign.
"There are lots of ways to take action, lots of ways to make a difference, but there is no substitute for the simple act of making your voice heard," said The Standard in a statement on their website.
To that end, the brand has installed a customized phone booth at The Plaza, located at The Standard, High Line in New York City. The hotel is encouraging everyone, including guests, staff and the general public, To use the phone, which rings directly to the U.S. Capitol switchboard, users simply punch in their zip code and choose the rep they wish to speak with and leave a message.

"For the uninitiated: congressional staffers tally up calls for/against, and these calls can play a [role] in how senators and representatives vote," said The Standard.
All five The Standard branded properties (High Line, NYC; East Village, NYC; Miami Beach; Downtown LA; and Hollywood) have also started to offer free, direct-dial options from their guest rooms, to make it easy for guests with something on their minds to make their voices heard.
