Trump Hotels Dealing with Another Data Breach

Officials from Trump International Hotels Management revealed Tuesday that the company faced a data breach which compromised card payment details at 14 of its properties.
According to the official Trump Hotels' website, the issue stems from a cyber attack on service provider Sabre's central reservation system in May. During the breach, payment card numbers, card security codes and other information was compromised.
In total, the Sabre's reservation systems are used by almost 32,000 properties around the world.
“We recently learned of an incident involving unauthorized access to guest information associated with certain hotel reservations. This incident occurred on the systems of Sabre Hospitality Solutions (Sabre), a service provider used by Trump Hotels,” the Trump hotel management group said in a statement.
“It did not affect Trump Hotels’ systems. The privacy and protection of our guests’ information is a matter we take very seriously, and we recommend that affected guests review the information in this letter for some steps they can take to protect themselves against potential misuse of their information.”
While the data breach did not impact Trump Hotels' own systems, Sabre informed company officials on June 5 at several of its properties, including Trump Las Vegas and Trump Chicago, that were involved in the cyber attack.

For the Trump International Hotels Management, this is the third breach since May 2015, with the company agreeing to pay $50,000 last year in a settlement over data breaches that exposed 70,000 credit card numbers and other personal information.
Sabre announced that the unauthorized access began on Aug. 10, 2016, and was discovered and stopped on March 9.
