Atlantic City's Trump Taj Mahal remains on track to close this fall despite a recent union offer, NJ.com reported.
United-HERE Local 54 presented a proposal Monday calling for the four-star casino-hotel match other Atlantic City casinos in terms of contributing to its workers healthcare as well as restoring paid breaks.
However, management rejected the offer, which would cost the property $1.3 million, and now, the resort is on schedule to close Oct. 10.

The closure of the 2,000-plus-room property means the loss of thousands of jobs. Earlier this month, the more-than-2,800 employees at the Trump Taj Mahal received state-mandated notices that they would be laid off, according to the Press of Atlantic City.
That figure includes the 1,000 or so employees and members of Local 54 who went on strike as far back as July 1.
The strike stemmed from employees' frustration over health insurance and pension benefits that were eliminated in October 2014 while the casino-hotel was in bankruptcy.
