Air travelers looking to get to Universal Orlando will now arrive even faster.
That's because the resort has started offering an airport shuttle service that transports tourists directly from Orlando International Airport to Universal Orlando with no stops, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
Known as the Universal SuperStar Shuttle Service, operations begin Tuesday, with round-trip tickets running $35 per person.
Universal has partnered with SuperShuttle to provide the new transportation option.
"All guests staying at our Universal Orlando On-Site Resort hotels are being transferred to this new service, but you will be receiving more service than your last one with no additional charge," states the new service's Frequently Asked Questions page via the Sentinel.
Universal Orlando guests arriving at the airport between 7 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. local time will stop by welcome centers in one of two Universal Orlando stores. Once there, a concierge will check them in and provide "travel wallets" that include pre-printed tickets, the Sentinel reported.
Meanwhile, travelers flying into OIA between 8:30 p.m. and 7 a.m. local time will have to contact the shuttle service directly.
The new service will be faster as it won't stop at other attractions like outside shuttle services. However there will be a difference from Disney's Magical Express, as Universal SuperStar Shuttle riders will not only pay extra, but have to pick up their own luggage from baggage claim area at the airport, per the Sentinel.
Mears Transportation, the leading transportation provider out of OIA told the Sentinel that it was "not aware" of Universal's new service in an email from spokesman Roger Chapin.
The new shuttle service launch comes just one day after Universal Orlando announced plans to expand the Cabana Bay Beach Resort by 2017.
