Fresh off a substantial $3.8 million revamp of its common areas plus 80 deluxe guest rooms and oceanfront suites, Villa Premiere Boutique Hotel & Romantic Getaway in Puerto Vallarta has been tapped by AAA as a 2017 Four Diamond recipient.
In 2016, a total of 1,615 hotels in Mexico, Canada, the U.S and the Caribbean were recognized with AAA's Four Diamond rating that serves as a qualifier for the 2017 Four Diamond Award list. Just 5.9 percent of the nearly 28,000 AAA-approved hotels merit Four Diamond status.
According to AAA, only properties that meet standards for cleanliness, comfort and hospitality receive approval-whether it's a hotel off an interstate highway or a luxury resort. The number of Diamonds conveys the type of experience guests can expect, from no-frills to full service.
Abel Villa, general director of Hoteles Buenaventura group, notes that the AAA designation is becoming an annual tradition. The beachfront Banderas Bay property is just one year shy of receiving the nod for a dozen consecutive years.

"Our aim is to always make our guests feel like they have been received in their own secluded but lush paradise. That feeling can only be achieved by the work our staff does on a daily basis."

The property also features two additional a la carte eateries, two swimming pools, a poolside bar, daily yoga sessions on the beach, 24-hour in-room dining, the Mind & Soul Spa and a cocktail workshop with Executive Chef Antonio Martinez.
