Authorities are searching for a 30-year-old flight attendant who went missing after quitting her job at LaGuardia Airport last week.
According to Billie Cohen of Yahoo.com, Sierra Shields worked for a company that provided flight attendants for Delta Air Lines and United Airlines, but she went into her supervisor's office and quit her job on Thursday, Jan. 14.
After telling her boss about her decision to leave, Shields departed from LaGuardia Airport on foot at around noon, and has not been seen since. Reports suggest she called her family before departing from the airport, and investigators found her wallet and cell phone in her apartment upon a preliminary search.
Shields' friends and family have been searching for the women since she went missing, and they have started putting up signs and spreading the word on Facebook. Her family stated via the social media platform:
"Please help find this beautiful young lady! She is a precious, bubbly, and happy person. She lives her life by God's word and is such an amazing, helpful, and caring daughter, sister, and friend. All of us who know her, love her very much! If anyone has any information, please contact the number in the picture or this page. Please share and pray for her and her family! Thank you."
The New York Police Department is asking the public for help trying to find the woman, providing the following detailed description: 5'7", 160 lbs., black hair, brown eyes, medium build, medium complexion, and wearing a navy blue dress.
Anyone with information about Shields' disappearance should contact the New York Police Department.
