A man was removed from a United Airlines flight traveling from Chicago to Houston Saturday after making racist comments toward a Pakistani couple.
KHOU reported the man, who was not identified, asked the man and woman if they had a bomb in their bag.
According to a passenger who witnessed the incident, the couple was placing their bags in the overhead bin when the man made the remarks. The woman told the passenger that the man said: "That's not a bomb in your bag, is it?"
They didn't hear him at first, so he repeated the comment.
Multiple passengers who heard the exchange told flight attendants they were uncomfortable with the comments.
The man and the young woman he was traveling with were eventually instructed to get off the plane, which was met with cheers from some of the passengers.
One passenger captured the aftermath of the incident on a cellphone camera where the man appeared to dig himself into a deeper hole.
