Just a few days after Winter Storm Jonas devastated travel plans along the East Coast, Winter Storm Kayla is now making its way across the Plains and Midwest, bringing with it blizzard and winter storm alerts.
According to Quincy Vagell of Weather Underground, Winter Storm Kayla made its way through the mountains of Southern California into the Rockies Sunday night. As Monday progresses, the storm will continue making its way toward the Midwest, causing cancellations and delays at major airports along its route.

The hub currently suffering the most is Denver International Airport, which canceled 480 flights due to the storm. The roads are also less than ideal for travel, as the snow and ice continue to make commuting a nightmare.
Winter Storm Kayla is causing many states to issue blizzard watches, including Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota. Other states from the Southwest into the western Great Lakes are all facing winter storm warnings as well.
In all, the winter storm warnings and alerts have been issued to more than 13 million Americans and they cover more than 1,800 miles of American territory, from Southern California to Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

As Monday progresses, Winter Storm Kayla will meet up with another low pressure system and will likely begin dumping even more snow as it moves along. The blizzard conditions will come when the wind begins to pick up, limiting visibility and inhibiting travel.
On the other hand, Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport and Chicago's O'Hare and Midway International Airports are preparing for delays and possibly even cancellations Tuesday if the storm stays on its current trajectory.
