Heading home from your holiday celebrations could be a bit more difficult this year depending on where you are located across the U.S. With blizzard conditions around the Rockies and the upper Midwest blanketing snow across Arizona, Colorado and surrounding areas, expect a lot of delays.
According to CNN.com, by Sunday morning, more than eight inches of snow blanketed parts of northern Utah and southeastern Idaho.
Beyond that, it seems like other areas in the nation are having a very warm Christmas time. For those of you wanting to be jealous of the toasty conditions, seek your friends and family in the Southeastern areas. "Atlanta is forecast to reach a high near 70 on Christmas Day, while a balmy 80 is expected in Orlando," according to CNN. Tallahassee, Florida is looking at a record high of 82 degrees which beats out the previous record of 81 degrees that was set last year.
The latest airport conditions also sound comfortable. Only 100 flight delays so far across the U.S. by Sunday morning and 1,000 on Saturday according to FlightAware.
If you are opening presents around the midwest, you are probably experiencing a white Christmas. With that being said, the National Weather Service says "traveling would be dangerous if not impossible" on the holiday and through Monday.
