Alaska Airlines announced plans to launch new nonstop flights between Anchorage and Tokyo in 2027, giving travelers a direct connection between Alaska and Japan.
The seasonal service will launch on May 13, 2027, with daily flights through September 7, and the airline plans to resume the route three times per week beginning in January 2028, subject to government approval.
Alaska’s new flights will operate aboard Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. Departures from Anchorage are scheduled for 2:10 p.m., arriving at Tokyo Narita International Airport at 3:25 p.m. the following day.
Return flights will depart Tokyo at 9:45 p.m. and arrive in Anchorage at noon. All times are local.
Travelers looking to book the new route can take advantage of introductory round-trip fares starting at $999. The promotional fares are available for travel between May 13 and June 7, 2027, and must be booked by October 31, 2026.
Availability is limited, and additional terms and conditions apply.
In addition to the international expansion, Alaska Airlines will introduce three new seasonal nonstop routes from Anchorage to Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth and Nashville. The flights are scheduled to operate on Saturdays from June 12 through August 7, 2027, giving travelers more options for reaching Alaska from the continental United States.
