CIE Tours continues to expand its offerings beyond its mainstay Ireland and Britain destinations by bolstering its collection of Spain tours and introducing Portugal with the unveiling of 11- and 12-day “Northern Spain & Portugal” itineraries, which are set to launch in 2027, with Sunday departures from February through December.
The “Northern Spain & Portugal” itineraries will travel from Madrid to Santiago de Compostela in Northern Spain and from Porto to Lisbon in Portugal.
The immersive itineraries focus on one-of-a-kind experiences that spotlight the destinations’ myriad cultural attributes.
In Northern Spain, just some of the excursions include “Rioja Winery Visit & Tasting Lunch” and “San Sebastián Pintxo,” a walking tour of the Basque Old Town with visits to local bars.
In Portugal, excursions include the “Douro River Cruise & Port Tasting” and the “Aveiro Canal Cruise” on a moliceiro boat through the waters of which are known as “Portugal’s Venice.”
“As with all CIE Tours guided vacations, ‘Northern Spain & Portugal’ features the CIE Tours Inclusive Advantage, with every experience on the itinerary and most meals included in one upfront price, with no hidden expenses,” the tour operator said, adding that the 11-day tour includes 10 hot breakfasts, two lunches and six dinners; and the 12-day tour includes 11 hot breakfasts, two lunches and six dinners.
The land-only rate for the 11-day itinerary starts at $3,995 per person, double. A limited-time early booking savings offer reduces the price to $3,595 per person.
“For more than 90 years, CIE Tours has focused on helping travelers experience the local culture, traditions and food that make a destination memorable,” said Stephen Cotter, managing director of CIE Tours. “With our new Northern Spain & Portugal tour, we’re delighted to give guests the opportunity to experience some of the Iberian Peninsula’s most distinctive regions, while expanding into Portugal for the first time in CIE Tours history.”
