Intrepid Travel Donates All FAM Fees to Raise $12,000 for Community Nonprofits

B-Corp-certified tour operator Intrepid Travel has donated all of its 2025 FAM fees, which are the costs travel advisors are required to pay to take familiarization trips, to local nonprofit projects in Vietnam, Colombia and Portugal, the full impact of which is $12,000.

The tour operator made the donation through its charitable arm, the Intrepid Foundation. Three grassroots organizations were impacted: Save Vietnam’s Wildlife, which rescues endangered species, rehabilitates wildlife and restores ecosystems; Patrulla Aérea Civil Colombiana (PAC), which provides life-saving medical care to Colombia’s most rural communities; and Refood 4 Good, which rescues high-quality surplus food and redistributes it to people in need in Portugal.

These nonprofits were chosen because this year's FAM trips take place in Colombia, Vietnam and Portugal. Ten travel agents will set off the Cafe Colombia adventure this April, while in May, another ten agents will visit Vietnam on the Vietnam Express Southbound trip. In November, eleven agents will journey to Portugal. Along the way and in each destination, advisors will learn how Intrepid's business model supports local communities and environments while providing meaningful travel experiences for travelers.
