Revenge travel is more than just a buzzword; it's a celebration. It's a party that every travel enthusiast has held to slap back at restrictions over the past few years, and guess what? You're invited. “One of the biggest trends we’ve seen is the continued growth in popularity of small group active adventure travel. Our travelers are seeking out travel experiences that allow them to get off the beaten path and explore their chosen destination in an authentic and intimate way, whether on two wheels or powered by their own two feet,” said Sasha Andrews, Industry Sales Director with Exodus Travels.

It's time to offer your clients the antidote to revenge travel. As a travel agent, you have the power to help your clients make up for lost time and missed opportunities through organized adventures. The last time we checked, revenge was best served hot. So, ditch the lazy beach days and join in the celebrations—here's why organized adventures are the perfect solution to the revenge travel trend:

Escape the Crowds

One of the biggest drawbacks of revenge travel is the crowds. After being cooped up for months, everyone wants to travel and experience new destinations at the same time. But with organized adventures, you can take your clients to remote destinations that offer unique experiences off the beaten path. Whether hiking through unexplored mountains or kayaking in secluded waterways, organized adventures allow clients to escape the crowds and truly immerse themselves in their surroundings. “Without restrictions, clients are getting away to more exotic destinations like Japan, Bali, and Thailand,” said Monica Velasquez, Cruise and Tour Specialist with CN Travel in Los Angeles.

Challenge Your Clients

If your clients are looking for adventure, then organized adventures are the way to go! With hand-picked activities from tour operators, you can help push their limits and experience new challenges they never thought possible. Imagine them scaling a mountain peak or navigating through rapids on a white-water rafting trip! Organized adventures offer the trip of a lifetime with a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment that traditional vacations may not.

Collette, for example, has seen a surge in travelers looking to get back out into the world so far in 2023 and says their travelers are eager to explore places that are off the beaten path, including Japan, Australia, South America, and Africa. “They’re all selling well. Japan’s come back after recently opening up again, and so has the South Pacific. Iceland, Ireland, and Italy are all selling great, and the Patagonias of the world too.  We’re getting strong demand pretty much across the board,” said Dan Sullivan Jr., Chief Executive Officer at Collette. Sullivan went on to add that travelers are showing a desire to go on their bucket list trips after being stuck inside for the better part of three years.

Cultural Immersion

By exploring new destinations through organized adventures, your clients can gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the local culture. From learning about traditional customs and practices to sampling local cuisine, organized adventures break the barrier and introduce your client to unique and immersive ways to experience new cultures. This is the perfect way to help your clients connect with their destinations on a deeper level. “At Europamundo, we are preparing for our best year on record, and I like to think that this is a result of a shift in the life priorities of travelers going forward. New and unknown destinations such as Saudi Arabia, Japan, or Southeast Asia or immersions in Turkey, Morocco, and Egypt that venture off the well-trodden roads speak to those travelers seeking the excitement of discovering something unexpected on their journeys and that they are not willing to delay the fulfillment of their dreams any longer.” Alejandro de la Osa, CEO of Europamundo.

Create Unforgettable Memories

Finally, organized adventures allow your clients to create unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime. By offering unique and immersive experiences they can't get anywhere else, you can help your clients create memories they'll cherish forever. Memories that can only be made by springing into adventure!

“Every client that has booked with me this year has asked for me to help them plan a trip of a lifetime, their bucket-list dream trip.  My clients are seeking unique adventures and want to discover new places they haven’t yet explored.  TourRadar makes these luxury trips so affordable for anyone with its convenient payment plans, which is a big plus for most of my clients.”  Diane Belczyk, Owner, Travel with Diane in Anchorage, Alaska.
