Trafalgar Heads to South Africa for Acclaim Trip
Tour Operator Trafalgar Janeen Christoff May 27, 2019

In June, Trafalgar will kick off its 2020 Agents in Action (AIA) Rewards Program. Once again, the program will reward high-producing travel advisors with the ultimate prize: the Acclaim trip.
Trafalgar recently wrapped its 2019 program in March with much success.
“The second annual AIA program created lots of excitement especially with the exclusive rewards to say thank you to our amazing travel advisors,” said Melissa DaSilva, president of Trafalgar.
This year, the Acclaim trip takes a select group of advisors to one of Trafalgar’s newest destinations—South Africa—for a once-in-a-lifetime vacation.
“This epic journey kicks off in August 2019 with our ‘Gala en Rouge’ welcome party and continues with the iconic sights of Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg,” said DaSilva. “You’ll get up close and personal with the Big 5 at Kruger National Park and be awed with a ton of other ‘pinch me’ moments shared with you only as Trafalgar can. It’s the not-to-be-missed, event of the year.”
The Acclaim trip is recognized as one of the industry’s best trade incentives, and this year’s journey to South Africa is a special one for Gavin Tollman, CEO of Trafalgar.
“Africa sits very high on many people’s wish-list, but until you go there, you don’t really understand how it will change you,” said Tollman. “It’s one of those places that, when you leave it, you understand the very essence of the reason we travel.”
This year’s trip is sure to be one for the books.
“With us returning to our family’s roots, our agent partners are guaranteed that this will be an extraordinary trip, to an extraordinary destination, that will be spoken about for years to come. We are pulling out all the stops,” noted Tollman.
Agents in Action

The AIA program is divided into three levels based on the number of trips a travel advisor sells.
“With every level that our Agents in Action Club travel advisors reach, the more rewards they receive,” said DaSilva.
Advisors reach Club Access once they book six guests. Agents receive a surprise treat when they reach this level. This year that was a pop socket.
The Club Ambassador level is attainable once an advisor has booked 20 guests, made one booking online and have booked trips to at least two continents.
Travel agents receive a lunch pail, a metal straw and a “Me to We” Bracelet that showcases Trafalgar’s sustainability beliefs. They also get access to an exclusive reservations line.
Club Acclaim level is the ultimate goal and is attainable to those booking 40 guests or more and who have made at least one online booking as well as booking guests on at least four continents.
For travel advisors who reach this level, they receive a spot on the Acclaim trip. These advisors will also be featured on Trafalgar’s Agents Specialists page on its website.
This year, to encourage agents to reach the next levels, Trafalgar sent out three tips to encourage bookings:
—Check out our trending and destination webinars
—Connect with your local destination sales manager for training on our seven continents
—Book a group and host a Travel Talk for real results
