Cooking Class Asia introduced the Thai Cooking Vacation in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The cooking vacation combines interactive cooking, culinary travel and culture with a learning vacation. The cooking holiday offers Thai cooking classes, culinary field trips, cultural discovery and five-star, luxury accommodation. The cooking vacation is designed for foodies, culinary travelers, hobby chefs and those that want to enhance their home cooking skills. "Many Thai Cooking Vacations are generic tours with cooking classes added on," said Matt Kelleher, Cooking Class Asia owner and managing director. "Cooking Class Asia is different; we designed our cooking vacation for foodies, who want to make food and cooking the focus of their vacation." Cooking Class Asia's Thai Cooking Vacation is a cooking vacation, culinary vacation, and cultural vacation in one. Participants enjoy four group cooking classes. Classes are held at both an organic Thai farm just outside Chiang Mai and at a charming antique teak house in Chiang Mai's old quarter. Classes are limited to 12 participants and are taught by Thai instructors.

As a group cooking vacation, the cooking classes are ideal for single travelers, couples and groups. The cooking course introduces diverse flavors from Central, Eastern, and Northern Thai cuisines. Participants can choose between non-vegetarian and vegetarian menus. The package includes five-star accommodations at the Shangri-La Hotel in Chiang Mai. The tour includes culinary field trips to top restaurants and nightspots in Chiang Mai like the Riverside Restaurant and La Brasserie, two of the best-known restaurants in town. The featured restaurants offer live entertainment in concert with a variety of Thai and international specialties prepared by some of the best chefs in Northern Thailand.

During the week, the cooking class visits famous Thai Buddhist temples including Doi Suthep dating back to 1383. The tour explores the food culture, with visits to Thai food markets. The tour also includes visits to Thai markets such as the famous Walking Street Market where artisans from Northern Thailand gather once a week to sell their wares. The six-day/five-night cooking vacation includes four cooking classes, five culinary outings, five nights deluxe accommodation, English-speaking tour leader, airport transfers and transportation in Chiang Mai. The cooking vacation starts at $1,499. Cooking Class Asia is a USA-managed and -operated cooking vacation company.
