National Pink Day is June 23, and Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa has chosen the auspicious date to launch new pink-themed summer promotions. From June 23 through October 31, the resort will unveil two new oceanfront hales done in pink elements including pink cushioned chaise lounges under a thatched roof, two additional sunbathing lounger chairs, an ice water dispenser, and oceanfront views.

The Pink Ocean Hale Package includes a full day rental of these dedicated hales, and includes two complimentary cocktails (a pink Strawberry daiquiri would be most appropriate; house mai tais are also an option). While the cabanas directly front the Pacific Ocean, guests can also swim in one of two resort pools surrounded by tropical foliage, or sip cocktails at the popular Grotto Bar, situated between the two pools.

The package, which is part of the resort's Cabanas For A Cure program, is $285 plus tax and can be booked directly with the resort.

The resort will also donate a portion of the proceeds from their restaurants and spa to Susan G. Komen Hawai'i from June 23 - June 30. Pacific Rim-inspired resort restaurant Japengo will offer a Pink Sushi Roll, Lavender Grilled Seafood and Chocolate Decadence Cake in support of the organization. Kamaha'o, the resort's Marilyn Monroe Spa will offer pink manicures, and Son'z Steakhouse will have a Black and Blue Ahi Appetizer on offer.

The fundraising efforts will culminate on October 13 during Breast Cancer Awareness Month when Maui hosts the fifth annual Maui Paddle for a Cure, a non-competitive paddling event which benefits Susan G. Komen Hawai'i. Paddlers 18 and over will start the course on Ka'anapali Beach in front of the resort.

The Hyatt Regency isn't the only resort on Maui using cabanas to raise money for a good cause. On the other side of the island, sister property Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort has an ongoing promotion with the ANDAZ(RED) Cabana, which is done up in brilliant red and donates 30 percent of the proceeds to fight AIDS.

Should the ANDAZ(RED) Cabana be booked, the resort has five pools: three ocean-facing infinity pools, one all-adult tranquility pool and one 24 hour pool. Resort towels, water, sunscreen, and chair covers are all provided by the resort for registered guests.
