An Inside Look at Silversea Cruises' New Luxury Ships

Silversea Cruises recently resumed ultra-luxury cruising with its two new ships. The Silver Moon set sail from Athens, Greece on June 18, and the Silver Origin sailed from San Cristobal in the Galápagos archipelago. "With the maiden voyages of these two beautiful ships, we welcome guests to rediscover exotic destinations, cultures and cuisines in our trademark level of comfort, with impeccable personalized service," said Silversea's President and CEO, Roberto Martinoli.

Referred to as the "epitome of 21st century luxury travel," the 40,700-gross-ton Silver Moon holds 596 guests and is currently operating 10-day itineraries in the Eastern Mediterranean. The ship mirrors its sister ship, Silver Muse, and also boasts small-ship intimacy and spacious accommodations for guests.

The Silver Moon offers Silversea's new S.A.L.T. program (an acronym of Sea and Land Taste). Guests immersed in this concept have the opportunity to dive deeper into each destination through culinary experiences. This ship has a S.A.L.T. Kitchen, a S.A.L.T. Lab and a S.A.L.T. Bar.

The S.A.L.T. Kitchen is a regional restaurant offering a menu that changes depending on which destination the ship is in. A regionally-inspired wine list also accompanies the menu.

The S.A.L.T. Bar invites guests to sip on authentic flavors of the destination they are in. Drink options include wine, spirits and a variety of cocktails with delicious ingredients.

The S.A.L.T. Lab allows cruisers to discover local ingredients and how the food on the ship is prepared through workshops and demonstrations.

Silver Moon boasts spacious, all-suite accommodations. The cabins feature butler service, in-suite dining and a stocked bar, among other amenities.

Although there is plenty of room to comfortably lounge in the suites, the ship also has other areas to relax in, including the outside panorama lounge. Guests can grab a cocktail, get comfortable and watch the incredible views of the surrounding destination go by.

Recently returning to service in the Galápagos, Silversea Cruises introduced its first destination-specific ship, the Silver Origin. The ship boasts an expert guide-to-guest ratio of 1:10, a Zodiac-to-guest ratio of 1:12.5 and a crew-to-guest ratio of 1:11. This environmentally conscious ship invites adventure-seekers to experience the magic of the Galápagos Islands in a unique way.

During a sailing on the Silver Origin, guests are treated to delicious, authentic dining at The Grill. Using fresh local ingredients paired with regional wine, the Silversea Cruises team ensures cruisers' palates are satisfied throughout the journey.
