In Spokane, embrace the winter magic by gliding across the Numerica Skate Ribbon all month long. 

The Kickapoo Valley will come alive with frosty magic at its Winter Festival on January 13, an event that sees visitors enjoying skiing, dog sledding, ice cave hikes, chili contests and photo-worthy snow sculptures. Eagle River takes the excitement up a notch with its annual World Championship Classic Vintage Snowmobile Races from January 18-21, where a whole host of prizes are available to the daring entrants. Meanwhile, Elkhart Lake embraces the season at its Schnee Days Winter Festival (January 26-28), which will feature a chili cook-off competition, a spirit-sipping stroll, invigorating snowshoeing adventures, live music, and a myriad of other fun things. 

Green River takes center stage with the eagerly anticipated Mac Attack Fishing Derby (January 13), an event that will see anglers and outdoor enthusiasts kicking off the year in style. Next up, head to Jackson for the return of the Grand Teton Music Festival, which treats music lovers to exceptional music by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (January 5-7) & Utah Symphony (January 12-13) in addition to a performance of Dead Man Walking (January 28). The Pinedale Stampede Nordic Ski Race also takes place on January 28, inviting participants to glide through the snowy Wyoming landscapes in a thrilling display of skill and speed.
