As Memorial Day Weekend approaches, Shreveport takes center stage with the Mudbug Madness Festival (May 24-26). Get ready to join the festivities in Kennebunk as the May Day Festival marks over two decades of celebration on May 4. And to wrap up your month in style, don't miss Comicpalooza in Houston from May 24-26. As the Lone Star State's biggest pop culture convention, it's a must-visit event for fans of comics, gaming, cosplay and more. 

Nature lovers won't want to miss The 26th Annual Great Salt Lake Bird Festival in Salt Lake City from May 16-19. And for a burst of floral splendor, head over to Thanksgiving Point for the Tulip Festival at Ashton Gardens, running through May 18. 

Start May off at the highly-anticipated Waking Windows music festival, which makes its triumphant return to Winooski on May 3-5. Then, don't miss the annual Mayfest Arts & Crafts Festival in Bennington on May 25, which will feature a diverse showcase of local artisans, delicious food and live entertainment. 

Virginia Beach is gearing up for summer with the return of the Atlantic Coast Kite Festival on May 4-5, promising colorful skies and high-flying fun. Stay in town for Beach Music Weekend on May 10-11 where live tunes set the seaside vibe just right. As Memorial Day Weekend approaches, head to Vienna for the Viva! Vienna! Festival from May 25-27. This all-American extravaganza features rides, family-friendly attractions, live music, tasty fair food and great beer that culminates in a heartfelt Memorial Day tribute. 

It may have started in April, but the 105th Annual Apple Blossom Festival in Wenatchee will run strong through May 5. A highlight on Washington's spring social calendar, this event is not to be missed. Meanwhile, immerse yourself in the vibrant cultures of the African continent at the Spirit of Africa Festival in Seattle on May 11. And don't miss the annual Viking Festival in Poulsbo from May 17-19, where you can experience the rich Norse heritage of the town in an unforgettable celebration. In West Virginia, May means one thing: the iconic Strawberry Festival in Buckhannon. From May 11-19, the 82nd edition of this historic gathering promises a week-long celebration packed with excitement for you and your crew. With everything from Irish road bowling to a thrilling carnival atmosphere, there's no shortage of fun to be had. Finish your month in New River Gorge with the great tunes of the Mountain Music Festival, which will kick off on May 31 and run into June. 

The state's most legendary Memorial Day Weekend event is back: BratFest in Madison (May 24-26). Make your way to Cody on May 9-11 for the 24th Annual Best of the Rockies Cody Country Horse Sale and to the town of Buffalo on May 18 for the Forever West Extreme Bulls 2024 Rodeo.
