Sweden's Icehotel is, you guessed it, made of mostly ice. Founded in 1989, the hotel has undergone constant change ever since as its redeveloped with brand new temporary ice rooms every winter. Icehotel is located in the village of Jukkasjarvi, roughly 125 miles north of the Arctic Circle, and now includes a permanent structure known as Icehotel 365 that relies on solar panels to keep it cool year-round.

Located on the edge of Bolivia's Salar de Uyuni-the world's largest salt flat-Palacio de Sal boasts the distinction of being the world's first salt hotel. Guests will notice the mineral all over the place, including in the walls, floors, ceilings, furniture and art sculptures.

Vietnam's Hang Nga Guesthouse is otherwise known as the "Crazy House."
