Travelers looking to spend their summer vacation in the Aloha State have a new convenient flight to the Hawaiian capital with Alaska Airlines newest route expansion.
The carrier has just launched summer seasonal service between California’s Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) and Honolulu (HNL), marking its fourth gateway to Hawaii from the Los Angeles area.
Alaska will use a Boeing 737 Max 8 to operate the flights through August 18.
The new Honolulu flight is meant to complement the network of Alaska’s joint carrier Hawaiian Airlines.
In 2026, the combined airlines will operate 23,000 flights between California and Hawaii, the most of any carrier. The airlines serve Honolulu out of nine cities in California, with additional nonstops to Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island.
“Together, we are able to offer guests traveling between California and Hawai‘i the most seats, flights and destinations, providing unmatched access, flexibility and choice,” said Neil Thwaites, vice president of global sales and California commercial performance for Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines.
