One of the most stylish airport lounge brands in the world is making its debut in continental Europe.
American Express is opening a new Centurion Lounge location at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) on September 17.
The swanky new space will measure 6,000 square feet, with a design inspired by Dutch landscapes. A color palette of blues and greens evokes the nation’s famous canals, while the proportions and repetition of design features are meant to reflect canal houses.
“Schiphol is a major travel hub for our Card Members in the Netherlands and around the world. That made Schiphol a natural place to bring the Centurion Lounge experience,” said Audrey Hendley, president of American Express Travel.
Food and beverage options will celebrate local traditions, like a Blue Roast Coffee Bar that highlights Amsterdam’s coffee culture, as well as a buffet of seasonal dishes with nods to Dutch cuisine and regional European ingredients.
“As the first global credit card company to operate a lounge at AMS, we look forward to welcoming Card Members in a premium space designed to reflect the character of Amsterdam,” Hendley said.
The lounge will also feature floor-to-ceiling windows, a bar serving up local and international beers and cocktails, and a mix of areas to work, dine, and relax.
To access Centurion Lounges, travelers must hold the right AmEx card, which includes The Platinum Card, The Centurion Card, or the Delta SkyMiles Reserve Card.
The new lounge is located between concourses E and F and will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
