It’s in the hole!
With all due respect to Bill Murray
and ‘Caddyshack,’ Delta Air Lines is teeing up an expanded roster of flights to
Augusta, Georgia, for this year’s playing of
the world’s greatest golf tournament.
The Masters.
The carrier has nearly doubled its
seat capacity at Augusta Regional Airport in Georgia. The flights will be
available from April 7 through 15.
The expansive schedule includes nine routes — six brand-new — and
boasts more than 1,300 seats daily to AGS, marking a substantial increase from
2023.
Delta has long sponsored the tourney in Augusta since the town is
practically in the backyard of the airline’s home base in Atlanta.
The schedule features new routes from Washington, D.C.,
Boston, and Austin, cities where passenger demand for nonstop service to the
Masters is high, along with flights from New York-JFK, Palm Beach and Orlando.
Delta will also resume flights from LaGuardia and Detroit and expand services
from Atlanta.
"Delta will provide golf enthusiasts worldwide with increased
access to the game with over 200 convenient one-stop connections to Augusta
through our leading hubs in Atlanta, Detroit, Boston, and now notably via JFK,
where Delta operates a robust global network," said Joe Esposito, Delta's
S.V.P. of Network Planning.
"And as an official partner again this year, customers can
expect a Delta experience that goes beyond the flight, from takeoff to the
greens in Augusta," Esposito continued.
With much of the fleet equipped with live
satellite TV, you can watch the practice rounds early in the week and any
other shoulder programming related to The Masters.
