Delta Announces First-Ever Flights to Brisbane

Delta will begin offering seasonal flights between Los Angeles and Brisbane, Australia this winter.

The new route, set to kick off on December 4, will provide service to the capital city of Queensland and run three times each week until the end of March 2025.

With the addition of Brisbane, Delta will offer 17 weekly flights between the United States and Australia this winter.

“This marks our most extensive schedule to the South Pacific to date, and as we build our presence in the region, we know our customers will enjoy the enhanced experience consistently provided by Delta,” Joe Esposito, Delta’s senior vice president of network planning, said in a statement.

Delta’s LAX-to-Brisbane route is the latest in a series of investments the airline is making in the South Pacific region.

For winter 2022, Delta introduced a second frequency from LAX to Sydney. The airline also recently enhanced those flights to daily, which means Delta now offers 14 flights per week to Sydney.
 
The airline also launched daily service from LAX to Auckland, New Zealand, in October 2023 and added three-times-weekly flights to Tahiti in December 2022.

The new route will operate on the Airbus A350-900, which includes Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin. 

Delta also recently announced new transcontinental flights in the United States including several that will fly from the East Coast to Hawaii.

Brisbane continues to add new service. Earlier this month, American Airlines announced a new non stop flight to Brisbane. 

With the news of a Bluey's World opening in 2024, Brisbane's tourism is sure to take off.
