Upgrades are on the horizon for Delta Air Lines fliers: the Atlanta-based carrier just unveiled plans to launch its swankiest business class cabin yet.
The airline is rolling out a revamped version of its popular Delta One business class suites, set to debut in early 2027 with the launch of its first-ever Airbus A350-1000 plane. That aircraft will be the largest-ever in Delta's fleet, with half of the seats allocated in premium cabins.
Additionally, the carrier plans to add Delta One suites with closing privacy doors. to its existing Airbus A330-200/300 planes for the first time.
The new iteration of Delta One business class suites across both the A350-1000 and A330 variants will offer added comfort features like a seat that converts to a lie-flat bed that is three inches longer than existing seats, giving passengers a total of 6.5 feet to stretch out and sleep. The seats will also have a new pillow-top cushion on top of the existing memory foam layer.
“Customers are clear that comfort is their number one priority when flying Delta One — 97% say Delta’s flat-bed is the reason for choosing the cabin,” said Mauricio Parise, Delta’s vice president of brand experience. “This led us to a new design that, when combined with our current mattress pad and luxury bedding from Missoni, makes for an incomparable sleep at 30,000 feet.”
Elsewhere in the suites, passengers will have access to new convenient stowage areas like a shoe cubby, a phone tray, and a hook for eyeglasses. The overhauled cabin will also be outfitted with Delta’s largest-ever entertainment screens, which measure a whopping 24 inches, plus Bluetooth connectivity and wireless charging areas, as well as a lamp with mood lighting.
At the entrance to the new Delta One cabin, there will also be a dedicated refreshment station where fliers can help themselves to snacks and soft drinks throughout the flight.
The revamped Delta One suites come amid unprecedented demand for premium airline products that began in 2025 and has shown no signs of slowing down. In response to the trend, two other major US airlines have announced similar new product launches and upgrades to their business classes.
United Airlines is launching its new Elevated Interiors later this month, with new perks in its Polaris business class cabins like its Studio Suites that are 25% percent bigger and offer Champagne and caviar service.
Likewise, American Airlines continues to expand its new Flagship suites business class product, with the new cabin rolling out on more of the carrier’s Airbus A321XLR planes that will be deployed on transatlantic routes throughout 2026.
Delta’s upgrades aren’t just limited to the front of the plane, however. The carrier will also add a few key benefits to its Delta Comfort and economy cabins, including an extra inch of legroom thanks to a new sleeker seat design, and extra storage options with a handy seatback shelf. Seats in every cabin will have USB-C and international AC power outlets, as well as bigger seatback screens with 4K resolution and Bluetooth capabilities.
The sweeping cabin upgrades are part of a larger initiative at Delta to refresh its fleet with new interiors. Together with the new Delta One Suites, the upgrades total more than $1 billion investment in cabin upgrades across the airline’s fleet.
