It sounds like it's too good to be true, but Delta has a sweet partnership this Valentine's Day for customers flying economy class on select flights from JFK to SFO/LAX on February 14th.

Too often, we expect economy class flights to be of the peanut and pretzel variety, but luckily that's about to fittingly change on Valentine's Day.

Through a partnership with Vosges New York, each flyer in the main cabin will receive a mini bottle of La Marca Prosecco complete and festive with holiday-striped straw, and two chocolate truffles.

In addition, customers in the Delta One cabin, will get a four-piece set of the Exotic Truffle Collection, which includes flavors from around the world including one made with Schwarzälder kirschwasser combined with dark chocolate and tart Michigan cherry, a "Wink of the Rabbit" with soft burnt caramel, dark milk chocolate and New Mexican pecan, a "Woolloomooloo" with macadamia nut, Sri Lankan coconut and milk chocolate, and an Absinthe version with Kübler absinthe, Chinese star anise, fennel, and Sri Lankan coconut ash.

Heavenly Partnerships

The carrier has also committed substantial time and resources to improving wellness in the skies, with a recent partnership with Westin to roll out a thin and soft blanket in a woven fabric to passengers in the economy cabin for domestic flights.

Launched in November 2016, the partnership also unrolls blankets to 22 million First Class customers per year. The airline partnered with the brand team behind Westin, and picked colors for the blanket that would be complimentary with the brand (the current hue is a blue-gray).

On TransPacific flights including those to China, the brand introduced sleep suits and loungewear. Beatriz Sims, a spokesperson for Delta said that "wellness in general is important for domestic passengers, and for Transatlantic flights in particular."

Last year, they had a partnership with Nick Anderer from Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group to serve a fresh menu in Premium Class. "I think it was part of an ongoing effort to improve the customer experience, with bedding and lighting," said Sims, "and we're always looking for new ways to invest in the customer experience. I think we are always constantly looking for changes," she added.
