British passengers headed to Las Vegas from Heathrow on Sunday evening were met with an unpleasant surprise: Their flight, scheduled to depart at 4:40 p.m. was canceled due to a technical issue.
Passengers were booked in area hotels and told to come back the following day.
On Monday afternoon, the new flight experienced its own delays but eventually began boarding passengers. Just as they were fastening their seatbelts, however, seconds before takeoff, they were met a with more bad news.
A "baggage mix up" meant their flight was to be canceled a second time.
That's when furious passengers reportedly "went crazy." According to the Evening Standard, one traveler became so infuriated he "spat, shouted and threw things at crew members."
The cabin crew alerted pilots, who then called the police to escort passengers off the plane.
Briish Airways' customers were once again re-accommodated at area hotels for a second night. They eventually departed Heathrow on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m., after a nearly 48-hour delay.

While BA was seemingly worried passenger rage might physically manifest itself, many annoyed passengers instead took to social media to vent their fury.
Others wondered how their luggage made it to Las Vegas before the flight ever left.
The passenger with the original tweet, Jim Allison, eventually took matters into his own hands and re-booked his flight on American Airlines.
A spokeswoman for British Airways said the airline understands how "frustrating" the delay was.
