The long Labor Day holiday weekend may unofficially mark the end of the busy summer travel season, but it could also be the perfect time to plan your next vacation. That is, at least, if you’re going somewhere that low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines flies.
To wave goodbye to summer and welcome harvest season, Spirit has launched its End-of-Summer Sale, which offers one-way fares as low as $45 on autumn air travel from September 9 through November 8, 2023. But, to get those rock-bottom prices on fall flights, you’ll have to act fast, as bookings must be made by 11:59 p.m. ET on September 5 in order to qualify. Also, note that special sale pricing does not apply to flights on Fridays or Sundays.
“The joys of travel and experiencing new destinations with family and friends shouldn’t be limited to the summer. This new offer gives our Guests a chance to save and make it easier to travel this fall,” Lania Rittenhouse, the vice president of guest experience, brand, and communications for Spirit Airlines, told Travel + Leisure. “With an extended booking period available all Labor Day weekend, there’s plenty of time to choose which of our many destinations to visit and book flights at this limited-time low fare.”
With limited-time sale pricing, passengers can fly domestically for just $45 one-way with such flights as Atlanta to Boston, Chicago, Miami or New Orleans; Boston to Atlanta, Dallas or Orlando; Charlotte to New York, Dallas or Orlando; Chicago to Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale and Houston; among many others. Cross-country tickets might cost a little bit more, but are still being offered at special one-way prices, such as flights from Los Angeles to Newark for $109; Atlanta to Las Vegas for $90; Detroit to Los Angeles for $105; and Baltimore to Las Vegas or Los Angeles for $110; along with a range of city-to-city options offered at prices in between.
U.S. destinations available at on-sale prices include Albuquerque, Atlanta, Atlantic City, Austin, Baltimore, Boise, Boston, Burbank, Charlotte, Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Louisville, Memphis, Miami, Milwaukee, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Myrtle Beach, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Newark, Orlando, Pensacola, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Portland, Raleigh, Reno, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, San Diego, Seattle-Tacoma, Tampa and West Palm Beach, among others.
Spirit’s ultra-low-cost approach to air travel offers its customers bare-bones base fares with optional a-la-carte services available for a fee (e.g., carry-on or checked luggage, seat assignments, in-flight refreshments), giving flyers the freedom to select only the extras they value. Earlier this year, the airline also partnered with StatusMatch.com to allow its customers who have status with 16 other airline and 16 hotel loyalty programs to enjoy similar benefits through its Free Spirit frequent flyer program.
