To boast Delta Air Lines’ service to the Caribbean, the carrier will add or expand service from New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to three top destinations later this year.
Delta will add a second daily flight to Nassau, Bahamas, on October 1, and introduce a new daily service to Kingston, Jamaica, effective December 20. The airline will also introduce a new Saturday-only service to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, beginning December 22.
When the new service is added this winter, Delta will operate up to 145 flights per week to 16 Caribbean destinations from JFK airport. The flights to Kingston will operate on Boeing 737-800 aircraft and journeys to both Nassau and Port-au-Prince will operate on Airbus A320 aircraft.
“No one better connects New York to the world than Delta,” Delta vice president Chuck Imhof said in a statement. “We offer our customers more flights to more destinations than any other airline and we're excited to add more flights to the Caribbean to our strong network portfolio.”
All customers flying with Delta from New York to the Caribbean will be able to enjoy more than 1,000 hours of on-demand in-flight entertainment, free mobile messaging and optional access to high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the aircraft.
In addition to the new Caribbean routes from NYC, Delta is adding a new daily service to San Jose in June and will increase the frequency of flights to Dallas to three times daily by September.
The airline will also add an eighth nonstop to Atlanta, a fifth nonstop to Detroit and additional increased nonstop frequencies to top business markets including Charlotte, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Nashville, Norfolk and Washington, DC.
