A flight attendant suffered a broken bone in her chest after she fell out of a plane.
According to the South China Morning Post, the female flight attendant was loading a food trolley onto the stationary Xiamen Air Flight MF8253 at Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport when she lost her footing and fell through the open door while it was on the tarmac of the Chinese airport.
The Boeing 737 stopped in Henan to be restocked during a scheduled flight between Fuzhou and Lanzhou when surveillance cameras captured the woman's fall. The tray is seen falling first, but the attendant catches herself before hanging from the open door for a moment. She eventually dropped to the tarmac below.
The unidentified flight attendant was treated on the scene by medical personnel before being transported to a local hospital. She underwent surgery Friday night to fix a broken bone in her chest. Doctors said she would be in the hospital for about a week.

Thankfully, the South China Morning Post reported the attendant did not suffer any permanent damage. Officials from Xiamen Air have launched a formal investigation into the incident.
While flight attendants falling out of planes are not common occurrences, a similar incident did take place in October. An attendant working for China Eastern Airlines suffered bone fractures and bruises after falling from the rear door of a plane at Shenzhen airport.
