Southwest Expanding Service to Mexico

Southwest Airlines is continuing its growth in Mexico by adding new routes and increasing the number of existing flights.
According to Reportur.com, Southwest will begin operating new flights from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Raleigh, North Carolina, to Cancun starting in 2018. The airline also announced it's offering a fourth flight to Houston from Cancun.
The airline now offers journeys to the popular Mexican destination from 27 cities in the United States, including Nashville and Saint Louis. Southwest offers more service to Cancun from the U.S. than any other carrier.
In addition to the new routes announced, Southwest will increase the number of daily flights between Cancun and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a service that began operating last summer.
Southwest also begins operating from terminal 4 at Cancun International Airport this month.
“We are very happy for the incredible response we have received from our clients and from the cities in Mexico,” Southwest spokesperson Brad Hawkins told Reportur.com. “We want to continue expanding our services so that even more people can get to know Southwest Airlines, a low-cost option with first-class customer service.”

Earlier this year, Southwest announced it would add new weekly services from Sacramento and San Jose to Los Cabos, and from San Diego to Puerto Vallarta. Southwest now operates in four cities in the Mexican market, including Mexico City, San Jose del Cabo, Puerto Vallarta and Cancun.
From a long-term perspective, Southwest has plans to open offices in Mexico, taking advantage of the diversity of tourist destinations and lower operating costs.
