Carriers in the United States get plenty of grief for flight delays and cancellations, but United Airlines bucked that trend when it hand delivered lost engagement and wedding rings back to their owner Monday.
According to ABC San Francisco, traveler Brit Morin lost her engagement and wedding rings somewhere between New York and Jackson Hole, Wyoming, last week. Morin was devastated by the loss and didn't know if she would ever see the rings again.
Thankfully, a gate agent working for United found the jewelry and put them inside a safe until it could be returned. Instead of simply sending the personal items through the mail, the agent handed them off to a United pilot flying to San Francisco.
Once the pilot landed in California, he hand-delivered the rings and a hand-written note to Morin, which she posted on Twitter:

As a follow-up, United's official Twitter account shared that the airline plans to recognize both the gate agent who found the rings and the pilot who hand-delivered them to Morin for their willingness to go above and beyond for a customer.
It was a standout week for several carriers in the U.S., as an American Airlines ticket agent is being heralded as a hero for saving the lives of two underage girls who nearly became victims of human trafficking.
