Thanksgiving is about family, togetherness, insane amounts of food taking up space around the dinner table and, for certain areas around this great country of ours, a trip on the local train.

Yes, there is plenty to be thankful for, so we might as well include a vibrant rail system rolling through amazing locales in the list of things for which we are grateful.

Below is an assortment of train trips dedicated to Thanksgiving.

Now this is hardly an exhaustive collection, so feel free to hit us up with any that you feel we may have missed.

For the moment, throw on your roomiest pants and get ready to dive into some turkey-themed train trips.

Napa Valley Wine Train:

Good food and wine remain the best tandem for an amazing adventure or the fuel you need for a long autumn slumber.

In either case, you are getting both aboard this California train on Thanksgiving. Taking off Thursday, November 26 you are getting "a traditional Thanksgiving meal on board the Napa Valley Wine Train prepared by our world-class Executive Chef Kelly Macdonald."

Prices range from $134 to $209 for three and a half hour trip.

Sierra DinnerTrain:

The Sierra Railroad is fond of its themed trips. Thankfully, this extends to the comfort and laze that comes with the holiday.

The website states: "Throughout dinner, the train will roll along at a leisurely 10 to 15 miles per hour, covering out-and-back a total of 32 miles of track."

Prices range from $44 for children to $79 for adults. You will have a choice between turkey or ham, which is exactly the kind of conundrum we live for.

Cape Cod Central Railroad:

Take in the majesty of the Cape Cod Canal while stuffing your face with a "five-course gourmet meal."

Travelers will get a choice of entree: Herb encrusted tenderloin, pistachio encrusted salmon or, as Cape Cod Central describes, a "Traditional Roast Turkey Dinner: Roast stuffed turkey with sage dressing and pan gravy."

According to the website, first class passage seems to have sold out at the moment. There is no word if more tickets will be put on sale.

Prices for the three-hour ride is $84 for adults and $44 for children.

Seminole Gulf Railway:

There are two chances to explore the Fort Myers, Florida, area this Thanksgiving.

The Seminole Gulf Railway has a little something for kids as well as the kids at heart.

According to the website, you can enjoy a Midday Celebration, complete with a "New England Feast." (Adults $49 and Children $29).

Of if you haven't eaten yourself into a slumber, there is the "Speak Easy of Murder," which takes off at 5:30 p.m. local time and costs $75.

Whether you are enjoying this Thanksgiving at the slow speed of a luxurious train ride or the even slower pace of walking from the living room to the dinner table, have an absolutely great one.
