Amtrak is offering a sale on its Auto Train, offering a cheaper way for travelers to visit Florida from along the East Coast for as low as $39 per person.
The Auto Train sale applies to bookings made March 18 through March 26 for travel between March 19 and July 31. Travelers can enjoy coach fares as low as $39 per adult and $19.50 for children, though the sale is also valid for Roomettes, bedrooms and accessible rooms. Single occupancy Roomettes, for example, are currently $239.
The Auto Train route starts in Lorton, Virginia and ends in Sanford, Florida.
It’s the only train of its kind offering space for personal vehicles, including cars and small boats, to also ride along with passengers, so travelers can enjoy the convenience of having their own car once they’ve reached their destination. Bringing along personal vehicles does come with an added cost.
Travelers can purchase the discounted tickets one day in advance of travel on the Amtrak app or website.
