A sudden wind squall caused the Celebrity Edge to break from its moorings while docked in Juneau, Alaska.
On June 16, the Celebrity Cruises’ ship was visiting the state’s capital city when a storm rolled in, with wind gusts reaching 30 to 35 miles per hour. Videos of the vessel drifting away from the dock began making the rounds on social media.
However, no one was hurt and the ship did not sustain any damage; the cruise proceeded as planned.
“Our captain maneuvered the ship back to the dock where passengers and crew boarded to resume the scheduled itinerary,” according to an emailed statement shared with USA Today.
