While cruise vacations are experiencing record popularity this year, prices for some cabins and sailings are soaring.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises, for instance, has just announced its’ 2027 World Cruise - World of Splendor voyage, for which the Regent Suite will cost $1.7 million for two guests.

The 140-night sailing, which departs January 11, 2027, will take place aboard one of Regent’s newest ships in the Seven Seas Splendor, one of three Explorer-Class ships.

The journey will include visits to 71 ports of call, more than 480 included shore excursions and 14 overnight stays. The itinerary also includes visits to 73 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

If $1.7 million is too pricey, there are other price categories available for the trip. The Veranda Suite, for instance, costs between $91,499 and $839,999 per guest.

Those looking to cut costs further could opt for a shorter journey. Regent says it’s also possible to sail 126 nights from Miami, Florida to Rome, Italy, for a cost of $84,999 per guest to as much as $755,999 per guest.

This news of Regent’s high-priced sailing comes on the heels of a previous announcement from Crystal Cruises about its 135-night world cruise offering for which cabin prices start at $168,000. And that’s just the bargain-level entry price. Suites on the Crystal Serenity for the journey will cost as much as $550,000 for two passengers. The luxe sailing will take 740 well-heeled passengers to 72 destinations across 27 countries and five continents.

Some of the journey highlights include: "Marquesas Islands, Bora Bora's turquoise lagoons, and the lush greenery of New Zealand," according to the cruise line's press release.

"From there, explore the iconic Sydney Opera House in Australia, and meander through the bustling streets of Hong Kong. Delve into the rich history of Mumbai and marvel at the architectural wonders of Dubai. From the sun-kissed beaches of Bali to the cultural tapestry of Athens, the voyage travels through the Mediterranean, including a stop in Monaco, just in time for the Grand Prix before concluding in the historic wonder of Rome."

Booking for that journey, which departs from Los Angeles, California, opened on March 19, per a Crystal press release.

Back to Regent’s opulent sailing. The Points Guy (TPG) reports that the top suite on the ship is 4,443-square feet, which is far larger than the average American’s house. Additional noteworthy highlights found in Regent suites include beds featuring handmade mattresses worth $200,000 and a private spa area where guests can avail themselves of unlimited treatments.

Regent’s suites typically sell for about $10,000 per night, according to TPG.
