It's almost time for pristine pups to prance about at the 2017 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, and it's Cunard that will help sponsor the festive occasion.
The most highly trained canines are about to embark on New York City for a show that will take fans up to Valentine's Day. The show takes place from February 11-14, 2017.
Of course, there will only be one Best in Show canine wagging its tail at the end. The accolade will have both pooch and owner proud, but there is an extra surprise in store for the two thanks to Cunard.
This grand winner will experience luxury aboard the line's flagship Queen Mary 2. TravelPulse's Senior Writer Jason Leppert recently enjoyed this magnificent ship and offered thoughts on what this kind of lavish experience means for the winner.
Leppert states: "Seeing the Queen Mary 2 fresh from its extensive remastering recently was a real treat for my wife and I. Guests have so many new amenities to take advantage of like the great new Carinthia Lounge, and it turns out four-legged passengers do too. The kennel facilities have been expanded, and the dog run on deck newly sports a New York fire hydrant and Liverpool lamp post to make pets from both sides of the pond feel at home."

This is just a modicum of what awaits owner and dog. More than a transatlantic sail, the two will garner the glory and glee commensurate with the best prize in the dog world-save food given directly from the table.
And the only travel company to sponsor this year's event is Cunard. Josh Leibowitz, senior vice president, Cunard North America, explained the brand's decision: "Cunard is proud to sponsor the iconic Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City. Both brands have a long history of supporting our four-legged friends, and we are thrilled to be part of this tradition for dogs and dog lovers."
The cruise promises owners and dogs can meander on by and pose with Wally for what will be a "paw-fect" photo opportunity.
Now, as Leppert mentions, Cunard expanded its dog kennels onboard, which is par for the course for a cruise line that has, in the past, welcomed the likes of, according to Cunard, "Rin-Tin-Tin, Elizabeth Taylor's pampered pooches, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor's beloved pup and Pudsey, winner of Britain's Got Talent 2012."
Gail Miller, director of communications, The Westminster Kennel Club, echoed Cunard's canine commitment: "We are delighted to be working with Cunard at this year's show. This premiere cruise line offers pet owners an opportunity to travel with their dogs in a comfortable and safe manner and we look forward to a long relationship with them."
Any dogs out there would be wise to search around for their favorite cabana shirt and sunscreen because it's time to sail.
