Disney Cruise Line is moving up its fleet expansion plans, with three new ships planned to set sail in 2029 and another in late 2030, a full year ahead of schedule.
The news, shared on The Walt Disney Company’s earnings call on August 5, was also reported by Cruise Critic.
In 2024, Disney Cruise Line announced its fleet expansion plan, adding four ships to its fleet between 2027 and 2031. Once these ships debut, the total will be 13 ships for the family-centric cruise line.
The new update revises that original plan, adding three ships in 2029 and another in late 2030, completing it one year ahead of schedule.
The Disney Believe, debuting in late 2027, will be one of the last Wish-class ships for the cruise line. It will be a sister ship to the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure.
According to CruiseFever, the next ship to debut after that will be another Wish-class ship, built specifically for cruising around Japan. It will be built in a partnership with Oriental Land Company, the operators of Tokyo Disney Resort.
The other two that will launch in 2029 will be smaller-sized ships, ranging between the Magic- and Dream-class ships in tonnage.
