Disney Cruise Line is sharing more details about its newest ship, Disney Destiny,
The 144,00-gross-ton ship, which will have a heroes and villains theme, is slated to debut in late 2025 from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It will be powered by liquefied natural gas and can accommodate up to 4,000 passengers.
The vessel will feature a new savanna-inspired dining venue featuring music and moments from “The Lion King.” Called Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, the experience will include lighting and special effects, as well as live musicians and storytellers on a stage in the middle of the restaurant. Performances will include “Circle of Life” and “Hakuna Matata,” as well as a mash-up of “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” and “Be Prepared.”
Disney Destiny will also have a new confectionery shop called Edna Á La Mode Sweets, inspired by Edna Mode from “The Incredibles.” Guests will be able to sample handmade gelato, ice cream, cookies, candies and specialty treats in an environment inspired by the “Auntie Edna” short film—complete with costume models, modern sewing equipment and sculptures of sculptures of Edna and baby Jack-Jack.
Travelers can also stop by two casual, walk-up cafes located off the Grand Hall, the ship’s central gathering space, for coffee, tea, specialty beverages and snacks. Café Megara, named in honor of the heroine from “Hercules,” will have a “Greco disco” design featuring waves on the ceiling, the lightning bolts and clouds of Mount Olympus, vases featuring the Muses and nods to Pegasus. Café Merida is named after the heroine from “Brave” and will have a Celtic-inspired design.

The ship’s staterooms will be decorated with artwork showing famous Disney legends.
Most will also have Disney Cruise Line’s signature split-bath concept, and many will have a connecting door for adjoining staterooms.
Concierge guests will be able to enjoy exclusive areas and amenities on Disney Destiny, such as a concierge lounge and a private sun deck. Concierge staterooms and suites will be decorated with watercolor-style artwork inspired by “Fantasia.” Meanwhile, seven oceanview rooms located right above the bridge will be decked out with “The Incredibles” iconography.
The ship will also have four royal suites, which will feature interior design inspired by “Hercules,” as well as “IncrediSuites” featuring mid-century modern design and elements inspired by “The Incredibles.”
“For the Disney Destiny, we will introduce brand-new cruise experiences inspired by the legends and legacies of some of Disney’s most iconic heroes and villains,” says Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Cruise Line. “From the dining rooms to the staterooms and everywhere in between, guests aboard our new ship will be surrounded by extraordinary storytelling paired with the signature service and family-fun adventures that are hallmarks of a Disney Cruise vacation.”
