Holland America Line is the latest cruise line to announce increased daily gratuity charges for passengers.
The Seattle-based Carnival Corporation & plc subsidiary revealed this week that it will raise the daily hotel service charge for passengers staying in interior, oceanview and verandah staterooms from $11.50 to $12.50 per person, Cruise Critic reported.
Meanwhile, passengers staying in suites will be charged $13.50 per person per day, up from the previous charge of $12.
The new hotel service charge rates will take effect across the cruise line's entire fleet Dec. 1.
Holland America's increases follow similar ones recently announced by Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line, which revealed an adjusted policy following a pair of daily service charge increases that took place in a five-month span.
