Ponant’s fleet is growing: The French cruise line plans to launch a new catamaran, called the Spirit of Ponant, this summer.
Built in France, Spirit of Ponant is a Lagoon Seventy 7 yacht that measures 78 feet long. It features six staterooms with space for up to 12 guests and four crew members, including a personal chef. Guests will be able to enjoy activities like snorkeling, wakeboarding and paddleboarding.

“The Spirit of Ponant is a new expression of our pioneering spirit, as the travel format is a first in the luxury cruise sector,” says Hervé Gastinel, chief executive officer of Ponant. “Our guests will experience what it is really like to be a sailor, including interacting with the captain to create a voyage that meets their desires and expectations. They will benefit from hidden away anchorages in magical places, while enjoying the high-end services for which Ponant is renowned.”
The ship will be available for private, week-long charters or, periodically, on a per-cabin basis on select itineraries. Cabins will start at $8,250 per person based on double occupancy.

Spirit of Ponant will set sail from Bonifacio, Corsica, in July, offering customizable 7-night roundtrip voyages. Then, it will head to Seychelles for the winter, where it will circumnavigate Mahé island.
When it launches, Spirit of Ponant will join Ponant’s existing fleet of 13 small-size ships. The cruise line will release more information about itineraries later this month.
