Princess Cruises is gearing up to celebrate six decades of providing its guests unforgettable voyages with a nostalgic 60th Anniversary Mexican Riviera Voyage. Departing from the Port of Los Angeles on December 6, 2025, this special 14-day sailing aboard the Royal Princess will revisit several ports that featured in the cruise line’s inaugural trip aboard the Princess Patricia, which set sail on December 3, 1965.
Adding to the festivities, iconic Motown group The Temptations will join the cruise, performing live during the voyage. Known for its timeless hits like "My Girl", the legendary music group gave a special preview performance aboard the Discovery Princess during the announcement event. This dual celebration also highlights the 60th anniversary of the release of "My Girl", making it an even more festive occasion.
Jill Whelan, a treasured part of Princess Cruises’ legacy who played Vicki Stubing on “The Love Boat” TV series and now serves as the brand’s Celebrations Ambassador, was on hand aboard the Discovery Princess to share the exciting news. In a nostalgic twist, Whelan will also take on hosting duties for the special anniversary sailing itself, bringing her connection to the cruise line’s history full circle. Additional details of the voyage’s onboard events and special guest appearances are set to be revealed in the coming months.

The anniversary sailing will feature overnight stays in Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta, as well as port calls in Loreto, Manzanilla and Mazatlán. This commemorative itinerary will provide passengers the opportunity to explore the beauty of the Mexican Riviera while simultaneously saluting Princess Cruises’ six decades of industry innovation and product excellence.
In addition to this throwback anniversary cruise, the company plans to roll out more yet-to-be-revealed celebratory activities for its 60th throughout 2025. Another significant milestone awaits this year with the much-anticipated launch of the new Star Princess in October.
