Silversea Cruises is reporting a record number of early bookings for its World Cruise 2020.
Both past passengers and first-time cruisers are showing exceptional interest in the itinerary aboard the Silver Whisper, which will visit all seven continents on the 140-day voyage.
In a sure sign that the ultra-luxury cruise segment is booming, the ship's top Owner's Suites sold out immediately. Double-occupancy bookings for the category are in the range of $480,000.
Silversea's World Cruise 2020 will visit more than 62 ports in more than 32 countries. It includes expedition experiences in Antarctica for the first time. And, it will call on 40 new destinations from the line's 2018 and 2019 itineraries.
The cruise will also make history by crossing through both the Northern and Southern Fjords.
"With larger cruise lines significantly reducing their capacity on World Cruises, Silversea is increasingly becoming the prime choice for world cruisers looking for real, in-depth destination experiences," said Mark Conroy, Silversea's managing director for the Americas. "With rates starting at $62,000 per guest, the record number of bookings for the 2020 World Cruise demonstrates a growing demand for once-in-a-lifetime, luxury travel experiences."
The Silver Whisper can accommodate up to 382 guests on the World Cruise 2020. The cruise will include a selection of onboard events, as well as bespoke excursions and land programs.
Early booking offers include a $2,000 onboard credit per guest; roundtrip business-class air, Silver Shore baggage valet between home and ship; laundry service and unlimited Wi-Fi.
Silversea has recently announced that two new vessels will join its fleet. Silver Moon will make her debut in 2020. Silver Dawn is set for delivery in late 2021. Both will be sister ships to the line's highly-regarded flagship, Silver Muse, which debuted in 2017.
